A research project for Regione Lombardia
August 25th, 2010
GESP participates in the H2O-Leak research project, with the aim of improving the efficiency of water distribution networks, thereby rationalizing consumption. The H2O-Leak project focuses therefore on the study and testing of solutions to assist operators of water systems.
The dispersion of water from Italian aqueducts is now higher than that found in other Western countries.
The H2O-Leak project aims to provide managers more advanced tools than those used currently. In particular, it examines three critical aspects: the division into districts of the network, the scope of the districts at night and the identification of physical losses.
The project involves the construction of a dedicated GIS system to support these tasks with advanced tools for simulation and data analysis. The considerable experience gained from GESP in networks will obviously valuable.
