GESP for Italian fashion

GESP received funding from the Italian Ministry of Industry to develop MI FIDO (Made in Italy Fashion Identity and Originality) Program. The project presented by GESP with several partners have already qualified in the top hundred.

The Program aims to certify the authenticity of Italian products through innovative technologies that ensure the control of the entire chain of distribution of the product, protecting a highly vulnerable sector to counterfeit.

The goal is to give all objects produced a Passport of Fashion able to guarantee the authenticity of Italian products in the world.

Today the checks refer to technologies which are obsolete. The program will take for the recognition in RFID, a technology that can guarantee the full protection of the products associated with the microchip along all stages of the supply chain

This solution has many advantages in terms of reliability. In particular, it guarantees the ability to track the location of the object through the production chain, logistics and distribution and prevents the production of false leaders, theft of blank labels and duplication of the genuine article. It also allows to optimize the supply chain, identifying theft.

As for the scientific perspective, the program uses the contribution from Bocconi University in Milan, through the SDA Bocconi and his team of researchers and technologists.
Many of the activities envisaged are relevant geographical place of production, transportation, the location of check stations (tunnels), the place of destination and sales.

To support the entire process, GESP will implement a GIS system in order to concentrate the data characteristic of the system and also analyze it using concepts and geospatial operations.

The geographic data (maps / ortho worldwide network of transportation, location of points of departure of goods, location of place of arrival) will be organized within a system of specialized software functions and tools that simplify and automate the work operator assigned to the control of the Supply Chain.
An important function of the whole process is the publication of GIS in Web environment.
