Client: Autostrade per l’Italia S.p.A.
Autostrade per l'Italia is the leading European licensee for toll motorway construction and management, and for related transport services. Autostrade per l’Italia is a group of companies managing about 3,000 Km of motorways in Italy and it has business interests in some foreign countries.
SIS-ASPI (Street Informative System - AutoStrade Per Italia) is a GIS-based, last generation motorway network information system, used to manage plans, constructions and maintenance phases in the highway life-cycle.
SIS-ASPI is composed of two applications:
- DOER (client/server) to update motorway network;
- Viewer-User (web-based) to publish information via Intranet.
GESP has designed and developed DOER module. DOER is an high customized desktop GIS; its most important features are:
- LRS (Line Referencing System) support: it makes possible to dynamically localize features (points and lines) along roads, streets and highways;
- Oracle Long Transaction: users can draft, modify or create different versions of the same motorway in order to support the planning phase without affecting the real network version. When a planning prototype has been finalized, users can automatically integrate it with the real version;
- Time Versioning support : every change (geometrical and alphanumerical) is stored with a time attribute. Users can restore an old network version (i.e.: 3 years old) and compare it with the current one, in order to examine discrepancies;
- Spatial Query Builder: a customized query builder allowing users to easily find and locate data, connecting also to not-GIS database.
The SIS-ASPI is Oracle Spatial (RDBMS) and Intergraph GeoMedia (GIS engine) based and has been developed with .NET 2.0 Framework.
