Colt Telecom Group plc (City of London Telecom) is a leading provider of high bandwidth data, voice and advanced telecommunication services to business and governmental customers in Europe. It currently has operations in 32 European cities in thirteen countries.

GESP has been the first Italian supplier of this group when it obtained license to operate in Italy. The project envisaged the supply - in different phases - of both geographical database to support the network planning (data) and GIS solution (software) to design, manage and maintain the fibre network laid-out by Colt in Italy.

The data (vector, aerial and satellite imagery overlapped to as-built backbone and local routes) have been captured, converted, geo-referenced and integrated in all the Italian branches of Colt Telecom (Milan, Rome and Turin). Some applications to view, manage and edit specific data have been designed, carried out and deployed according to custom technical specifications.
