Client: Snam Rete Gas (Eni Group)

The project regarded the enhancement and correction of a large GIS dataset involving the electrical and mechanical protection of Snam Rete Gas pipelines, used by SIGAS (the graphic and alphanumeric information system implemented by Snam Rete Gas to manage its own 30,000 km gas pipeline network).

The project consisted in the correction and the addition of new pipelines and the upgrading of the associated “Centre” and “EP” schemes.

The Electric Protection DB (based on Oracle RDBMS) has been wholly re-designed and re-built, and then afterwards filled-in. The project employed, in a period of 6 months, n.9 CAD / GIS Operators and n.1 Project Manager: because of the importance of the quality in the whole data production process, a full time technician has been employed covering the role of Quality Assurance Manager.
