Client: Genoa Province

Genoa Province is a Public Body composed from more 100 Municipalities in the North of Italy. These Municipalities delegate many actions, particularly in matter of Environment and Territory Management, to Province. It keeps the role of operating structure and provides the detecting and collecting data using air / water / noise monitoring networks and making environmental controls on the local industrial plants.

EDB is a set of  environmental information coming from 15 alphanumeric databases, constructed by different companies, in different times and using different technologies and containing data, elaboration, indicators, etc. Often, the datasets have also an unlike temporal basis (hourly, daily, etc, average) and their owners are the different public bodies of the Region (Liguria, Italy).

The scope of work is to carry out a sole geo-referenced dataset able to collect all the data, according a common schema, with the aim to integrate the information and query them using a unitary IT environment.

In particular, there were 15 datasets involved in the project, coming from traffic surveys, water, air and noise emissions, observatories of water and air quality, etc, each having a different origin and owner (Region, Province, Municipality, etc.).

The contract has been acquired in joint-venture with Datasiel (the regional company for the IT management), who has kept the sole role of administrative/contractual management leader.
